Hotspot-Internet has developed a Weatherproof Outdoor Unit for deploying Wi-Fi at a very low cost of entry in a localized area of 1/3 to 1/2 square mile. The unit is a turnkey solution that comes pre-packaged from one vendor with all the components needed to get a Wi-Fi network up and running within hours. The joint solution enables Internet access today and provides an advanced service delivery platform for emerging value-added services such as Voip services, location-based content management, online gaming music downloads, advertising and much more. The solution is based on many successful deployments at number of locations around world and is grounded in standards to ensure compatibility with evolving technology. It also offers an upgrade path to grow with additional users.

The Hotspot-Internet unit combines the Hotspot-Internet Gateway and Operations support System functionality. This unit is designed for metro-scale networks to streamline Wi-Fi deployment and minimize ongoing operations costs. The OSS provides a range of subscriber access, billing, customer care and subscriber monitoring functions required to deliver and bill for Internet services. These advanced subscriber management functions include multiple authentication methods, customer self-service and customized branding on splash pages. Flexible billing options such as prepaid cards and subscriptions for paid and free access give a city many options for offering free and paid Internet access.

Our unit is a complete hardware and software appliance that incorporates the OSS and Hotspot-Internet Gateway functionality into one convenient package. It can reside in city's data center and connects WLAN mesh network to the Internet via a broadband connection. The appliance manages all subscriber access, authentication and accounting (AAA) functions, monitors system availability and performance, Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and customer care and billing functions.

The OSS is compatible with advanced SSL encryption and digital certificates to provide security for subscriber transactions and also supports corporate VPNs.

The Hotspot-Internet Wi-Fi cell family combines extended range of cellular technology with the high bandwidth of 802.11 to create anytime, anywhere broadband data networking. Hotspot-Internet technology adds intelligence to Wi-Fi to enable deployments that were previously difficult or almost impossible.

Hotspot-Internet Wi-Fi unit require only power connection and can be deployed anywhere it is available. Each Wi-Fi unit provides wireless connectivity to standard 802.11b clients and extends coverage area of Wi-Fi network. Hotspot-Internet is certified for outdoor installation and can be mounted on external structures such as buildings or lampposts to quickly implement citywide applications such as police data communications or public wireless access.
